On our final day of filming, we were in the middle of an interview with Living Room founder Juli McGowan Boit, when we were stopped by sounds of screams and crying. Juli told us that she thought someone had passed away. Our cameras stopped as our brains and hearts tried to process this news.

That moment from silence to tears was so significant to all of us. That separation between life and death suddenly became so small.

The name of our documentary is based on this: that small moment between life and death. It is that moment where the Living Room steps in to provide compassion and care. To stand with a person on their last days of life is not an easy thing to do. They stand with people as they are leaving this world so that they can leave it in peace knowing that they are loved. Knowing that they are cared for. Knowing that they are important.
